About Oura Spirit
A family home for travellers, in the green heart of Unawatuna
Oura Spirit is a family-run boutique bed and breakfast that welcomed its first guests in late 2025. We built it as the place we would want to stay ourselves: spacious rooms, a pool garden full of plants, a generous breakfast and people who genuinely care.

Our story
Built around a garden, a pool and a table
The villa rises in three white, arched storeys above a curved pool, with cabanas, banana plants and palms all around. Inside, every room is generous, between 30 and 45 m², with a floating bed under a softly lit arch, a teak-framed bathroom and doors that open to a terrace or balcony.
At the centre of the house is a long live-edge wooden table. Breakfast is served here every morning, and it is where guests swap stories, plan beach days and, as one reviewer put it, feel “like part of a little family”.
We are a short tuk-tuk ride from Unawatuna’s beaches and 6 km from Galle Fort, but far enough down a quiet lane that the loudest thing at night is the jungle.

What we believe
How we look after you
Home, not hotel
Ten rooms, one long table and a family who are around. Guests tell us it feels like staying at a friend’s villa, and that is exactly the idea.
Calm by design
Arches, lime-washed walls, teak, rattan and a garden that wraps the pool. Quiet hours from 23:00 to 08:00 keep it peaceful for everyone.
Fresh, local, made here
Breakfast and meals are cooked in our own kitchen with fresh market produce and fruit, sometimes straight from the mango trees.
Fair and honest
We point you to trusted drivers, sensible prices and the places we love, and agree costs for extras before anything is booked.
The team
The people behind the welcome
Oura Spirit is run by our owner and his family, with a small team covering the front desk, housekeeping, kitchen and drivers. Someone is on site day and night, and the gate is staffed around the clock.
Guests often mention our chef’s curries and seared tuna, the housekeepers’ towel animals, the drivers who become part of the holiday, and Lola, the family’s golden retriever, who greets everyone.
The family also runs a small retreat a few minutes away, where we arrange sauna, ice-bath and massage sessions for guests.
